The iconic Brooklyn Bridge is undergoing a $337 million project to rehabilitate its historic masonry towers and approach structures. Opened in 1883, the bridge is arguably one of the most impressive feats of 19th century engineering. Its significance to the City of New York and to the entire nation is recognized in numerous historic designations including as a NYC Landmark, National Historic Landmark, National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, and nominee to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
JBC is working with the contractor, Navillus-MLJ Joint Venture, and masonry sub-contractor, Pullman SST, to advise and assist in the masonry rehabilitation work. The project is scheduled for completion in 2023.
